1. About us
Lightspeed Stats is a trading name of BTC Software Services Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 12897099.
Our registered office is Fawcett & Co, Brunswick House, 86–88 Carholme Road, Lincoln, Lincolnshire, United Kingdom, LN1 1SP.
You can contact us at [email protected].
These terms apply to products and services we sell where these terms are provided at checkout, including software subscriptions, strategy migration and strategy analysis services. “We”, “us” and “our” refer to BTC Software Services Limited.
Your contract includes these terms, our Refund Policy and the product details presented before purchase. It begins when we accept your order and send your order confirmation.
2. Our products and services
Your purchase includes the features, access period or work described for your chosen product.
Subscription features may include sports statistics, historical backtesting, saved strategies, daily qualifiers, live prices and tools for submitting betting instructions to Betfair.
One-off services may include recreating strategies in our software or providing recorded analysis. The scope, required customer information and delivery arrangements will be explained before purchase.
A one-off service does not include ongoing software access unless expressly stated. Planned features are not included until released unless we specifically agree otherwise.
Material technical requirements, account requirements, geographical restrictions and limitations will be disclosed before purchase.
3. Your account
You must be at least 18 and legally permitted to use the relevant features where you are located.
Accounts are for individual use. You must not share login details, resell access or allow others to use your subscription.
Keep your account information accurate and login details secure. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
Features that connect to Betfair require an eligible Betfair account and authorisation through Betfair’s authentication process. You must comply with Betfair’s account requirements and terms.
4. Backtesting and strategy analysis
Past performance is not a guarantee of future performance. Backtested results are representative of actual market activity at that time and do not establish that those results can be achieved in practice by you personally.
Results depend on the data, rules and assumptions used. Actual trading may differ because of liquidity, available prices, execution delays, unmatched or partially matched bets, commission, market suspensions, data gaps and changing conditions.
Repeated testing or fitting rules to historical data can produce apparently successful strategies that perform poorly in future.
Statistics, qualifiers, examples and strategy analysis are research and educational tools. They are not promises of profit or assurances that a strategy or bet is suitable for your circumstances.
When providing migration services, we will use reasonable care and skill to recreate the agreed strategy rules. Differences between platforms, datasets and supported features may prevent identical implementation or results. We will explain material limitations and agree any necessary changes to the work.
Strategy analysis reflects the information and assumptions available when it is prepared. You remain responsible for deciding whether to act on it.
5. Betting through Lightspeed Stats
Where available, the betslip allows you to instruct the submission of bets through your connected Betfair account. We do not choose bets or stakes for you or manage your betting decisions.
Before submitting an instruction, check the market, selection, back or lay direction, odds, stake and potential liability.
Submitting an instruction does not guarantee that a bet will be accepted or matched. Prices can change, markets can suspend and instructions can fail or be delayed.
If the outcome of an instruction is unclear, check your Betfair account before trying again to avoid placing an unintended duplicate bet. You should also be able to access Betfair directly to check and manage your positions if Lightspeed is unavailable.
Bet acceptance, matching, settlement and exchange charges are subject to Betfair’s terms.
Cancelling or refunding your Lightspeed subscription does not cancel bets already submitted or reverse their outcome. Manage any outstanding bets through Betfair.
Betting involves financial risk, including loss of your stake or, for lay bets, your full liability. Only risk money you can afford to lose. Our responsibility for losses is explained in section 12.
6. Prices and payments
The checkout explains the product, amount payable, applicable taxes, billing frequency and any introductory pricing.
Subscriptions are paid in advance and renew automatically at the stated interval until cancelled, unless expressly described as non-renewing. An introductory offer renews at the price and on the schedule disclosed before purchase.
One-off purchases do not renew automatically.
Not logging in or using the software does not cancel a subscription.
If payment fails, we will notify you and give you a reasonable opportunity to resolve it. Access may be suspended while payment remains outstanding.
We will not increase the price for a period already paid for. We will give at least 30 days’ notice by email of a price increase for a future renewal, including the new amount and effective date, so you can cancel before it applies. Any agreed price guarantee will be honoured.
7. Cancelling a subscription
You can cancel future renewals at any time using the cancellation button for the relevant subscription in your Lightspeed user dashboard.
Once cancelled:
No further renewal payments will be taken.
Access continues until the end of the period already paid for.
There is no cancellation fee.
Cancel before the next payment becomes due to prevent that renewal.
If you cannot access your account or use the cancellation button, email [email protected]. A clear cancellation request takes effect when received, rather than when our team processes it.
If you hold several subscriptions, cancel each one you no longer want.
Stopping future renewals does not itself request a refund of an existing payment. Our Refund Policy explains refunds and statutory withdrawal, including the separate EU withdrawal function in the ThriveCart Customer Hub.
8. One-off services
You must provide the information reasonably needed to complete the agreed work. We will tell you if missing information affects delivery.
We will agree any material change to scope, price or delivery arrangements before carrying it out.
Where statutory cooling-off rights apply, we will obtain your express request before starting work during that period. The consequences of cancelling after work starts, or after a service has been fully completed, are explained in our Refund Policy.
Describing a service as personalised or bespoke does not, by itself, remove your statutory rights.
9. Permitted use and intellectual property
We and our licensors retain rights in our software, content and underlying databases. Your purchase gives you permission to use the purchased product for its intended purpose.
You may use supported export and integration features for your own research and betting activity.
You must not:
Resell access or redistribute our underlying datasets without permission.
Extract data using scraping or other unauthorised methods.
Bypass access controls or interfere with security or operation.
Use the Service unlawfully or infringe another person’s rights.
Copy or reverse engineer our software except where the law permits this.
You retain any rights you have in your original strategy rules and submitted material. You allow us to store and process that material as necessary to provide the services you request.
10. Quality, availability and changes
We will provide our services with reasonable care and skill and comply with applicable requirements concerning quality and description.
Data may contain errors, gaps or delays. We will take reasonable steps to investigate material problems and put matters right. These limitations do not remove your rights where something is faulty or misdescribed.
Maintenance, technical problems and external events can interrupt access. We will give reasonable notice of planned disruption where practicable and take reasonable steps to restore affected services.
We may make reasonable changes to maintain security, fix faults, improve functionality, preserve compatibility or meet legal requirements.
We will explain material changes in advance where practicable. If a change materially reduces a service you have already paid for, you may end the affected subscription and receive a proportionate refund for the unused period.
Changes to these terms will not retrospectively remove rights relating to earlier payments or events.
11. Suspension and closure
We may suspend access where reasonably necessary to address a security risk, unlawful activity, non-payment or a material breach of these terms.
Where practicable, we will explain the problem and give you an opportunity to resolve it. Immediate action may be necessary to protect the Service or others.
If we permanently withdraw a paid service or close your subscription for reasons unrelated to a breach by you, we will refund the unused portion of your prepaid subscription.
Account closure for breach does not automatically forfeit all prepaid fees. Any amount retained must be lawful and proportionate.
12. Our responsibility to you
We do not reimburse losing bets simply because they were informed by our tools, analysis or backtests, or submitted through the Lightspeed betslip.
We are not responsible for losses caused solely by your decisions, normal betting risks, market movements or independent third-party failures where no breach of our obligations contributed to the loss.
If we breach our contract or fail to use reasonable care and skill, we remain responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result. Loss is foreseeable where it is an obvious consequence or was reasonably contemplated when the contract was made.
References to third-party services do not exclude responsibility for our own software, integration or contractual obligations.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Your statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.
13. Privacy and complaints
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information:
https://lightspeedstats.com/privacy-policy/
Send complaints to [email protected], explaining the issue and the outcome you seek. We will investigate and respond within a reasonable time.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of mandatory protections under the law of your country of residence or prevent you from bringing proceedings in a court available to you under applicable consumer law.
If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply.
